A Christian youth ministry at Konedobu in Port Moresby is making strides to mould and shape young adults to be responsible and assets for their family and community in future.
Sarea Mura, 19, David Haro, 24, and Mathew Peter, 22, are part of this growing interdenominational ministry. Haro is the youth leader and when I caught up with them, he said they were doing fundraising for a Christmas trip to Kavieng this year.
He said there are 20 youths from the Seventh Day Adventist, Catholics, Lutheran and Revival in this Faith Ministry.
“We come together as body of Christ to form the ministry, ”Haro said adding they walk from Lawes Rd to down town Port Moresby selling their home prepared meal of chicken and gravy for K3.00 and with drinks it’s K5.00.
“That’s the humble beginning of our ministry. “
“Actually we want to build and develop young people to be better fathers and mothers and they can look after their children. We want to open their minds and hearts about sustainable living,”he explained.
They have developed youths using their music and dance talents to worship Christ.
He said they believe individuals would reap blessings when they net their lives in Christ.
