I put up this post to share my experience about Garden Hills attack I had to go through.
On January 25th 2020 at about 6:30pm, I was out on my usual afternoon stroll back home after shopping at Stop n Shop Waigani Central.
I had just walked past the Garden Hills market when I was attacked by 8 men.
I fought against those men.
Their knives were at least more then 15cm long.
They were all armed. They pulled my bag which contained important documents.
I sustained cuts to my right forearm as seen in the photo.
I was a medical doctor so I knew chances of being alive with long knives injuries to chest was not good.
I had to rationalize quickly in seconds which body part to use to block the blows from the knife and then plan my exit.
I sustained cuts to my forearm and back. My wounds are healing now.
I am putting this post to plead with Governor Parkop and Police Minister to remove the settlements that are behind works and also extends onto the foothills of Garden Hills.
PLEASE REMOVE THIS SHANTY HOMES THEY ARE A CRIME HOTSPOT.
HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO SUFFER.
I thank God that I am alive today. For now I have had to delay a very important Kidney Training abroad because my passport was stolen.
