Twenty-four year old Alex Johnston trained with fellow PNG Kumuls yesterday at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby for the first time.
He said he missed the opportunities to represent PNG twice due to injuries but he was excited for the call up this time.
The Kumuls face off with the Fiji Batis in New Zealand and then the British Lions in Port Moresby.
Johnston said his grand mother is from Lumi in Sandaun and his mum was born in Port Moresby before moving to Brisbane, Australia.
He was born in Australia.
